All hail Klang Valley peeps! We may not have the most beautiful islands and beaches at our disposal, but there is no doubt that Selangor is home to unique attractions that blend nature, culture and urban all in one! Not forgetting the food options that range from humble stalls to lavish restaurants.

Apart from the regular spots we’re used to frequent for a short staycation, Selangor has a bunch of new places that you may or may not have heard of:

Singgah Santai Resort, Hulu Langat

Singgah Santai Resort is one of the newest accommodations that offer a selection of room types that’ll suit your need. It’s a great place to relax and unwind because the resort has many resting areas in the premise that’s away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It’s perfect for travel enthusiasts and backpackers dying for a getaway or families looking for some peace and quiet.

Sidek Brothers Monument, Banting

There’s a new monument located in Banting that was built to commemorate the contributions of our national heroes, the Sidek brothers who put Malaysia on the map in the badminton arena. Here’s a fun fact: this monument was built within the house of Tuan Haji Sidek, where the brothers grew up.

Sungai Lepoh Waterfall, Hulu Langat

Also known as Sungai Lopo or Sungai Lepok, Sungai Lepoh Waterfall is the place to be if you miss the outdoors. You can have picnics here with your family and friends, or plan a hike with your fellow nature lovers. Just get lost for a moment during the weekends or public holidays, you won’t regret it.

Anjung Spotter, KLIA Plane Spotting

It’s been a looong time since most of us have been to our national pride, the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). Now, you don’t have to wait till when you have a flight to catch to make a trip to the airport.

Anjung Spotter, now open to public, is great for photographers or just anyone who loves airplanes. Come on over to capture planes taking off and landing (yes, planes are still operating) from different angles. Truly a one-of-a-kind experience!

Ardence Labs @ Eco Ardence, Setia Alam

This is an interesting one. Located within the vicinity of a property development project, Ardence Labs successfully delivers a touristy appeal to promote a new housing area.

Locals and visitors alike often come here to enjoy the ambience and nuance of a modern community in the form of a container park. There are bold and vibrant graffiti walls located all around, plenty of eateries to dine in and even a supermarket to shop for groceries.

Elmina Central Park, Shah Alam

The residents of Shah Alam now have a new recreational park to sweat it all out. Elmina Central Park has a jogging track which is also good for roller-blading and cycling. And of course, the iconic Elmina bridge is a grand structure that has been taking over Instagram feeds lately. Its bright red colour seems to light up when the sun sets and almost glows at night!

Have you ever been to a dragon fruit farm? Now you can stop by the HL Dragon Fruit Eco Farm in Sepang! It’s a huge farm that not only offers fresh dragon fruit for plucking and tasting on the spot—you can also go on a guided tour, taste different dragon fruit dishes and beverages at the café, learn about the pollination process of fruits, and even plant your own dragon fruit here.

Address: Lot 7608, Jalan Besar, Baru Satu, 43900, Sepang, Selangor.

Sungai Serai Hot Spring, Hulu Langat

Believe it or not, Selangor is home to a number of hot spring attractions. Most recently, the Sungai Serai Hot Spring made it to the list. After cooling down at one of the many waterfalls in the Hulu Langat District, this hot spring is a preferred pitstop among nature lovers because of the high concentration of sulphur within the soil. Don’t we all need a good pampering session right about now?

We can’t miss out on a hiking destination, so Chenuang Hill is the latest addition after the forever-crowded Broga Hill. Its track from the entrance of Sungai Chongkak Tropical Forest has clear directions and signboards, so you definitely won’t get lost.

Along the way, you can take breaks in between your hikes by the rivers lining the track before reaching the peak of the hill. So go and get your hiking gear ready!
